It’s my turn to blog after Sylvia and Mark’s time in sunny Rio de Janerio. I’m in Scotland getting ready for PAE’s trip next summer to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And what a great place this is to blog from! Scotland! I’m amazed to find that everywhere I’ve been, from Glasgow to the Isle of Iona, it’s still lush with vegetation. It’s the beginning of October and it’s as green as Ireland! We’ve had the typical touch of rain now and then but there’s plenty of sun between the clouds. As they say, “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes!”I’m here for a week making sure things are in place for our August 2014 trip through southern Scotland to Edinburgh and the Fringe Festival. I spent this past Monday with Mark Bentley-Fisher of Greatdays, the folks handling all of our ground arrangements from arrival until departure seven days later. We looked at hotels in Glasgow, all excellent American style, all within walking distance of railways. We talked of rehearsal spaces and accommodating families.
I’m on the western mystical Isle of Iona right now, then it’s up to the Isle of Skye and finally to Edinburgh. There I’ll talk to the Ross Theatre people, the Fringe Festival folks and our Scottish producer, Patrick Gascoigne. Will post more pictures upon my return when I have some downtime to share more highlights with you!
